John Digweed Celebrates Milestone During Miami Music Week

March 27th

By Kevin Tshiamala

Continuing on our Miami Music Week preview onslaught, today we bring you John Digweed. When listening to Chris Rock last night on Neal Brennan and Moshe Kasher’s podcast The ChampsChris Rock described himself, and they agreed, as the hardest if not one of the hardest comics/entertainers in the industry. What comes with hard work and skill is often success. This is a testament that rings true not only for Chris Rock and the like, but that of John Digweed.

Long story short, he started DJing at the age of 15. He broke through with his progressive house movement playing the Renaissance Club in Mansfield, later touring through North America and Europe while releasing compilation mixes with labels such as Renaissance and Global Underground. He started his own record label, Bedrock Records. Promoting his music he played Heaven in London and other clubs throughout the weekends. He than played Twilo in New York until it was raided and shut down. Following his successful United States tour with Sasha and Jimmy Van M he managed to create the soundtrack for the film Stark Raving Mad. From then till now, John has been hosting a successful weekly two hour radio show, first on Kiss 100, but presently broadcasting online.

After all these years, John is still at it. On Thursday, March 27th John will be celebrating the landmark 500th episode of his legendary Transitions Radio Show by broadcasting live for the first time ever, direct from his Annual Sunset Cruise at 4:00pm EST. From the high seas just off Miami’s coastline presenting four hours of underground music Transitions 500  will be the first of no less than five shows that the John will be playing in Miami during Winter Music Conference.

Friday, March 28th, John will be hosting his Bedrock label Showcase party at Cameo, and will be joined by the likes of Guy J, Carlo Lio, Eagles & Butterflies and Denis A.

Sunday, John will be Downtown at Bayfront Park, for a very special set at Ultra Music Festival. We’ll see you there.

Transitions 500 will be broadcast online via, John’s Facebook Page and as well as through numerous FM radio stations worldwide.

John is also releasing the third installment of his Underground Sound series on March 17th, Underground Sound of Miami 3. It features ten totally exclusive tracks from artists both familiar and new, including Robert Babicz, King Unique, Darren Emerson, Dave Angel and Carl Lio to name a few.
