HAERTS and London Grammar Sell Out the Shelter

By Kevin Tshiamala

April 5th

London Grammar is a trio from London. After first meeting at university the band fully formed and has been in the studio working on their debut album. The first introduction to London Grammar came in late 2012 in the form of ‘Hey Now’ from the their debut EP ‘Metal and Dust’ drawing comparisons to the likes of Portishead and Radiohead with the vocals reminiscent to that of Lana Del Rey. They have been gaining steam and recently performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Along with their growing success and sold out tours, London Grammar has just recently released a new debut album with six very compelling tracks.

Last fall, received with critical acclaim, HAERTS released its debut EP, Hemiplegia. The 4-song collection features breakout tracks “Wings,” “All The Days” in addition to “All For You” and the EP’s title track. In January, the band sold out their first-ever hometown headline show at Music Hall of Williamsburg. HAERTS spent much of the last year on the road, performing with bands like Washed Out, The 1975, Shout Out Louds, Atlas Genius and Fitz And The Tantrums. It’s a new year and they’re now back on tour with a new single and a much anticipated debut full length album.

Recently named one of Time Out New York’s “Rising New York City Bands You Need To Know,” HAERTS will join London Grammar on select North American tour dates this month. HAERTS will support London Grammar through April 14 at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club. HAERTS is also confirmed to perform at a handful of summer festivals including Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Firefly, and Time Music festivals.

A little while ago, HAERTS shared a brand new self-produced song titled, “Call My Name,” from their forthcoming debut full-length album, expected this summer.

On April 5th they will be stopping by for a one night performance at the legendary Shelter in Detroit, MI. At the moment the show is sold out, but if I know The Fillmore and The Shelter, there will be some last second tickets available.
