TORONTO URBAN ROOTS FESTIVAL (TURF) ANNOUNCES THE PIXIES WILL CLOSE OUT THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL

TORONTO — TURF, Downtown Toronto’s boutique summer roots music festival held September 18 through 20 at Fort York/Garrison Common, is excited to announce THE PIXIES as the Sunday evening headliner. The legendary Boston quartet will close out the three day festival which also features headliners Wilco,Of Monsters and Men,Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Neko Case, Cake, The Avett Brothers and more. Also added to the bill are Heartless Bastards, Ottawa’s Jim Bryson, Philly’s Hop Along and Kitty, Daisy & Lewis from the UK. Visit the TURF website for more details on the daily lineup.
The festival also presents the TURF Club Bonus Series from September 16 through 22featuring TURF artists. The TURF Club Bonus Series events will be held at the Horseshoe Tavern and Lee’s Palace (celebrating 30 years of live music!). TURF Club Bonus Series artist announcements will be made in early July, so stay tuned!
