HEAR Talks to Aaron Lewis
By Ryan Lapointe
You know that reaction when your favorite band/singer tries “something different” or a “concept album?” The majority of the time, it ends up badly and makes you say WTF? Staind singer, Aaron Lewis, is the exception to the rule. After releasing the country EP, Town Line, in 2011 to critical acclaim, Aaron spent the next two years making the transition to country, while still recording an album and touring with Staind. In November of 2012, he released his first country LP, and has been showing the road how such an amazing voice can sound good in whatever it’s singing. HEAR’s Ryan Lapointe had the chance to discuss with Aaron, before back-to-back dates at The Machine Shop, his album and how the fans’ reactions have been. They also had a little time to talk about hunting and medical marijuana and, of course, the big question: What’s next for him, Staind or more country?
Make sure you check out Aaron Lewis at The Machine Shop in Flint on Wednesday, November 13th (Tuesday is sold out). Ticket info available at: www.themachineshop.info
