Forever Festival

Forever Festival is back for round 2! September 19-20th Freedom Hill Amphitheatre will fill the Detroit sky with not 1, but 2 days of hair-rising performances by headliners such as Krewella, Nervo, 3LAU, and heRobust on Friday. Saturday’s skills include Adventure Club, Destroid, and Flux Pavilion to close out day 2! More sets from the one and only DJ Godfather, Terravita, Caked Up, A Guy Called Amir, and local artist Adam Abstrakt.

Krewella, who proves that sister’s love is tenacious, will be Friday’s place-to-be! A few years ago Jahan Yousaf, Yasmine Yousaf, and Kristopher Trindl (aka “Rain Man”) decided to drop everything to pursue their passion of electronic music. In fact, each got matching tattoos: “6-8-10,” representing the date they left their normality behind. In 2013, Krewella released Get Wet, their lyrical album consisting of their hottest tracks “Alive,” “Killin’ It,” and “Live for the Night.” Get Wet charted in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 200 in its first week!

Krewella told HEAR, “Detroit has always been one of our favorite cities in the states to play, with crowds that are incredibly open-minded and full of life. We can’t wait to go hard for our Detroit krew at Forever Festival!”

The Canadian-based producers Christian Srigley and Leighton James of Adventure Club, first started off as a hardcore pop-punk band, but quickly realized that electronic music is where it’s at, and immediately prevailed dance floors with their slick Clubstep. Clubstep is a new sub-genre of dubstep that features smooth bass lines and electro jabs to make the sound of dubstep more suitable for the club’s dance floor. Signed under The Standard Group, they dropped their debut EP, Calling All Heroes, in 2013 that slammed out eargasms with their floor-rumbling dubstep and slithering electro-swag. AC has yet to play in Detroit this year, so expect the unexpected, and make sure you’re front and center for this show!

The colossal collaboration of Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka are known as Destroid. The diversity of this triad pushes musical boundaries. Their May 2013 release date of Destroid: The Invasion took their fans on a vast ten track adventure through invasive frequencies and bombastic bass beats. The album took to the top of Beatport charts and the super group’s response, “The time has come. Elevate your existence…or be Destroid.”

Hayden Kramer of heRobust is a producer out of Atlanta, Georgia. His downtempo beats and heavy bass tracks have been played by Skrillex, Bassnectar, and Pretty Lights. Back in 2013, Kramer released the EP, OG Status offering Trap and Glitch Hop – a faultless combination that gets every crowd slappin’!
