Muse X Detroit
Muse Made A Thrilling Stop On Their Drones World Tour in Detroit, X Ambassadors Open

Tour warriors, X Ambassadors opened the show. The New York natives performed songs off their debut LP, “VHS”. Riding a wave of success of their smash hit “Renegades”, the entire arena seemed to sing along to the chorus.
“I said hey – hey hey hey, living like we’re renegades!”
Earlier in the day, XA had performed an intimate acoustic set at Zeke’s rock and roll BBQ in Ferndale. In addition to singing their hearts out, the band answered questions regarding their success, and the years of paying their dues in old vans – joking about siphoning gas.
After an instrument swap, the stage was set for Muse.
The lights dimmed, and thus began a beautiful Matt Bellamy choral narrative regarding lives being stolen by drone killings. Several illuminated orbs rotated the stage in the darkness. The band is touring in support of their massively successful 7th album, “Drones”.
Emerging to an almost deafening wave of applause, Muse wasted no time beginning to rock the house, starting into a track from “Drones” called “Psycho”. A rotating circular stage was set up in the middle of the arena, complete with lights displays and live projections, leaving no one in the audience without an epic view.
With a heavily thought-provoking set, the English trio sprinkled in favorites from their expansive career into a powerhouse 20 song presentation. Muse has had an impressive upward trajectory spanning over 20 years that has taken them from small clubs to the very biggest of headlining stages. Whilst paying attention to every single detail, Muse even ended the night with a barrage of confetti shaped like little men.
Muse remain at the top of their game, and showed that they know how to put on a world class show. The band are finishing out their US leg of the tour with a few more stops on the east coast, before heading overseas to Europe.
It’s clear we’ll be seeing much more of these ROCKSTARS for many years to come.
