Enjoy the PREMIER VIDEO of the NEW SINGLE by BRASIL – DRUNK AT THE CONTROLS
Oakland, CA’s Brasil formed in 2012 from the ashes of spazz-psych bands The Symbolick Jews and The Myonics, and some other Bay Area bands you’ve probably never heard of. Having assembled for a one-off basement recording session, the band elected to continue as a unit after hearing the results. Influenced by Big Star, Pere Ubu, Television, and early American folk, the band took a light, more minimal approach to their material, eschewing effects and embracing surrealist imagery. Following a series of successful Bay Area gigs, they entered San Francisco’s Tiny Telephone Studios with Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof, The Dodos, Om) in early 2013 to record their debut album, due this October.
